Karate 5th Dan, Judo 5th Dan
His association
with the sports of Judo and Karate has been
as long as 42 years now and he is considered a pioneer
in these sports in India.
He started Judo in the year 1964 and
became interested in Karate in the year 1976. He is the
founder Secretary of the West Bengal Judo Association,
which took shape and was established in the year 1968. Beside
Mr. Raha is also connected with many All India Judo & Karate organisations.
He was National Coach of Judo from 1984 to 1986. During the period 1968 to 1976,
Mr. Raha participated in the National Judo Championship three times and was
declared best Judoka for the year 1968. He represented both West Bengal and
India many a times on various events and occasions.
Mr. Raha received training both in Judo & Karate staying at Japan
for six months at a stretch. Till date he visited Japan three times to
have special training in Martial Arts. Beside he took active part in various Judo
& Karate events in Nepal, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand and USA. Presently
a Black Belt 5th Dan Judo, 5th degree Black Belt in Karate, the Chief Coach of
the Seigo-kai Karate-do Association of India which he himself founded in the year 1985.
